Our Mission

Paws for Change's primary focus is to support crucial areas of veterinary research, which do not receive funding from establishment sources.

This will be achieved by evaluating unbiased research, which looks at the long term effects of small animal nutrition on disease acquisition and prevention constitutes our core competency.

Additionally, supporting the veterinary student population with educational opportunities to study the intersection of metabolism and disease, along with funding for legislative and regulatory initiatives to improve the standards by which pet foods are formulated, produced and labeled are a key part of our mission.

Finally, making accessible in popular formats, the latest in research and educational materials for pet parents and functional medicine practitioners, will advance a better, longer term and more productive relationship between pet owners, their veterinary partners, and the animals that are in their collective care.
